Summit Adventure Workshop Part 4: Light Painting!

As mentioned in Summit Adventure Workshop Part 1: Overview, Treetop Adventure, and Mountain Biking, the weather really through a wrench in the planned agenda. However, this led to one of my favorite parts of the week, Light Painting! Dave Black was one of the instructors, and this guy is legendary for his lighting techniques. One of those techniques results in a really artistic “painting” feel. You essentially start in the dark (inside or outside), and then “paint” light onto a canvas over a long 30 second exposure in short bits (sound effects encouraged). You can do this with a pen light, a flashlight, or even car headlights outside. I encourage you to check out his instagram for some better examples. I only had time to get to tries at it, but I am really happy with how it turned out. I have bought some penlights and a black tablecloth, and once I find time in life again I intend to try my hand at a lot more of this stuff. It is so cool!
