New Orleans Part 1: French Quarter and Jackson Square

In February I got to go to New Orleans for work and took the weekend to explore. I was surprised by what I found in the French Quarter. In my head, I think I was confusing it with the Garden District where the million dollar homes are. Instead I stumbled into the dirty world of Bourbon Street/tourist central. It wasn’t my scene overall, but I did love the beignets, the live music/street performances everywhere, and the people watching. There was a¬†liveliness to the city and because of all the competition the street artists were generally pretty talented. The street art was also very impressive. It looks like I’ll be back there again in the near future so I can’t wait for more good food!
