Back in April, I took a wildlife photography class through Capital Photography Center. They partnered with the Blue Ridge Wildlife Center to bring a possum, squirrel, 2 types of owls, a bat, an arctic fox (so cute!), a turtle, and a hawk to Huntley Meadows for the morning. We really lucked out that the great horned owl joined us as she lives with the executive director and only made an appearance at one of the two classes. This was the class I have been wanting to take for awhile, and I am so happy with the pictures that I ended up with and the education I got from the center. I was pleasantly surprised by the possum, which made it sad when I went to New Zealand and found out they were actively trying to eliminate the population to preserve their native bird population.
