Kenya: The Common Zebra

One of the moments that sticks out on the trip was post leaving the gate for Tsavo West. While we were waiting (it always took FOREVER to enter/leave a gate), a lone zebra wondered out. All of us took out our cameras and treated the zebra like the most interesting animal in the world. Later, as we are sitting photographing another animal, the guide played himself a video he had taken on his phone and was laughing. “These are my clients, taking photographs of the COMMON zebra.”

Yes, he was mocking us. And Yes, I later saw zebras just milling on the side of the highway. And No, I don’t care. They were still pretty cool to see/photograph. (I also still think cows/sheeps/chickens are awesome/fun.)
